or a little afternoon delight, if you prefer.
we shared a quote from mama and some recommended reading over on facebook. go see!
welcome to the bohemian sugarshack, formerly known as the boho ho' house. this is the home of beautifully adorned, naturally voluptuous ladies with locs, fros and braids schooled in the sensual arts of massage, aromatherapy, and gettin' down. start with the grand tour, then sit back, sip some herbal tea, and prepare to be delighted by the 21st century qadishtu...

cheating. with yourself.
came across this lovely nugget of an article yesterday. we'll wait while you go read.
...finished? well, allow me to retort.
WHAT??
this? still? in 2010?
it's a safe bet that any adult in a long term relationship has had the "is porn cheating?" conversation. but a larger question is: why is fantasy that stays fantasy such a factor?
all things being equal, actual sex-with-someone-else infidelity can be a problem. from the physical ramifications {unplanned pregnancy, disease} to the emotional {loss of trust, stress}, the other partner can be seriously hurt by their mate's choices. not to mention that the process of getting physically--or even emotionally--involved with an outside partner while involved in a perceived-to-be monogamous relationship takes time and effort.
finding internet porn takes almost no effort at all. flashing back to a sexy memory doesn't take much, either. and neither will give you herpes.
so you relieve some stress, go home {or to sleep} happy, and everyone's...fine. kind of.
so when did monogamy come to mean colonization of the mind? and why is masturbation still being coined an "act of desperation" instead of a teaching tool, self pleasure monitor, and/or shared sensual activity?
oh, right.
well, at least there's a happy ending {pun intended}:
yay, mia!
here at the shack, one of our mantras is, "know your limits". if porn is gross, that's ok. if you consider it cheating, that's ok, too.
our hope, though, is that you will deeply examine how and why you have those attitudes. question them. hold them up to the light. then determine whether or not they're worth holding on to.

WHAT??
Just imagining him there in his office on his own, it seemed like the ultimate act of desperation, something you'd only do if you didn't have a partner.

Colin assured Mia that his preference was to be with her and that masturbation was just an act of release when she wasn't around. "Then I showed her that this was something we could do together," Colin says.
Their sex life has improved, and the added benefit is that Mia no longer has to worry about why he's staying late at work. {emphasis added - this is often the difference between a fetish/attachment to porn and a bit of fun}

desire visualization 101
sometimes you gotta go back to go forward.
remember when you were a tween/teen and you had all that crap plastered to your walls? it was only natural to surround yourself with images of the stuff you wanted, your favorite things, music, colors...right?
do you still do that?
if you don't, why not?
too juvenile?
think of this, then: how many of those things did you actually receive in some form?

the illustrious mama gena suggests that women make desire lists, which are fantastic. somewhere along the line, we learned the power in transforming desire lists into a full-on wishbooks.
as an expanded version of your list, a wishbook allows you to visualize and literally put your hands on a two-dimensional version of whatever it is you want.
all you need is a sketchbook, notebook, scrapbook, or pretty journal. you decide the size.
fill your book with anything you like...photos of beautiful dishes and living room sets, inspiring mantras, pressed flowers, prayers, memories you'd like to relive in bigger and better ways--anything. your loves, your choice.
if you have a particular goal or cause, make a themed book. if "wishbook" feels too general or vague, give it a name {naming is power}.
if you use a generic notebook or sketchbook as a palette, make it yours. plaster the cover with anything that inspires you to cover up the boring details {see photo}. if it's safer to keep your wishes on the inside of the book, a journal with a decorative cover may be a better choice.
finally, it's a good idea to keep the wishbook either by your bed or on an altar of your choosing. if you're already building or using a space for abundance/prosperity/wealth, then this is an excellent way to continue concentrating that energy.
one {soft} rule: black out daunting prices. you're focusing your intentions and building energy to create what you love. money, at this stage, is no object. if the numbers discourage you, cut 'em out!

be a g.
greetings & salutations, lovelies.
we're already almost a full decade into the 21st century, so i'm hoping that anyone old enough to patronize the bohemian bliss boudoir is well aware that the g-spot (or, grafenberg spot, if you wanna get clinical) does exist, and that female ejaculation--while not highly visible, typically--is a scientifically documented phenomenon.
a quick google search even revealed some youtube footage of...well, who knows what. go find out.
if you're a fan of keepin' it real, alexyss tylor will hook you up. there's bound to be some commentary on all this in there somewhere. it's probably safe to infer that her references to "the bottom" have something to do with the g-spot, since hittin' the cervix will typically get you a punch in the face.
the point? the truth is out there. seek it.
kings: if you don't know the best way to hit your queen's sweet spot, find out. now. if you are in the know and she is woefully unaware, please put her on. when she can speak again, she'll thank you. trust me.
queens: if your consort is a great guy who's missing that special something, put him on. there are lots of ways to get there; don't be afraid of hands (trim those nails! you know better!), g-spot centered toys, veggies, etc and so on. figure it out yourself so you can teach him later. if you feel like it. i wouldn't blame you if you wanted to keep it your little secret.*
please understand that a porn star physique is not required. if length is an issue, prop yourselves up. pillows are your friend. so are yoga blocks & belts. experiment. get outta the bedroom and onto some sturdy chairs, tables...creativity is your friend.
and, as a cyber-acquaintance used to say, "you can never have enough lube".**
as always, remember that each of us are unique wonders of creation. g-spots are generally in the same position from woman to woman, but there are variations. some are pronounced and easily accessed. others might require some deep sea pearl diving.
finally, arousal is key. if you're new to this, please know it is not an undertaking for the after-the-club quickie. your first weekend away together? definitely. take your time, breathe, and bliss out.
as always, the sugar shack wishes you lascivious lovin and outstanding orgasms.
peace & blessings!
*you will not pee on yourself. that feeling means it's working. roll with it. rise above it. breathe through it. it will pass.
**something with a water or silicone base is best. k-y will do in a pinch, but is NOT meant for prolonged sensual encounters. the links to babeland and a woman's touch on the right hand menu can offer more information.

pleasure principle
ok, babies. let's talk about some serious life stuff right now--feeling delicious.
no, not herbal enhancements or even brownies--although either's cool if that's how you get down. this is about true, deep down, toe curling, smiling at nothing in the middle of a three hour meeting type pleasure.
ain't about whether you've got a man or woman. actually, your vibration needs to hum a little higher if you're gonna get that bliss you've been craving. so here are a few ways to get that glow:
eat what you want, when you want--but listen to your body.
sing for no reason.
smile at the sunrise.
put flowers on your desk.
learn how to shine.
laugh at shit THEY tell you should be taken "seriously".
have chocolate before breakfast.
love yourself. love yourself. love yourself.
that includes not taking any shit.
seriously.
love other people.
be generous in whatever way(s) you can afford.
think beyond payday. you are not your job, car, clothes, or money. own that truth. take care of business, but understand that fact to your core.
google everything.
turn off the tv.
read the paper.
google again.
watch independent movies.
shut down your little hater.
turn off the radio, too. listen to what they're playing in cd stores and before live shows instead.
read.
buy books whenever possible, but borrow them if you can't.
go into your local boho bookstore. they won't bite.
read to your kids.
your family members.
write.
record your dreams.
...you feel me?
leave some worshipful replies, beauties. let's deal in pleasure power and get each other blissed out. write your own bliss list! holla back so we can link to your loveliness.
...of course, our goal is to engage you in your fantasticness. so you're welcome to sit back, relax, and take it all in, but it's so much more fun if you participate.
ankh, wedja, seneb!
