do we really need more reason to fear different expressions of sexuality and human beingness?
apparently the pause police think so.
while some stuff is just hilarious, the low level homophobia is tired.
be different, black people, and you could get called out!

desire visualization 101
sometimes you gotta go back to go forward.
remember when you were a tween/teen and you had all that crap plastered to your walls? it was only natural to surround yourself with images of the stuff you wanted, your favorite things, music, colors...right?
do you still do that?
if you don't, why not?
too juvenile?
think of this, then: how many of those things did you actually receive in some form?

the illustrious mama gena suggests that women make desire lists, which are fantastic. somewhere along the line, we learned the power in transforming desire lists into a full-on wishbooks.
as an expanded version of your list, a wishbook allows you to visualize and literally put your hands on a two-dimensional version of whatever it is you want.
all you need is a sketchbook, notebook, scrapbook, or pretty journal. you decide the size.
fill your book with anything you like...photos of beautiful dishes and living room sets, inspiring mantras, pressed flowers, prayers, memories you'd like to relive in bigger and better ways--anything. your loves, your choice.
if you have a particular goal or cause, make a themed book. if "wishbook" feels too general or vague, give it a name {naming is power}.
if you use a generic notebook or sketchbook as a palette, make it yours. plaster the cover with anything that inspires you to cover up the boring details {see photo}. if it's safer to keep your wishes on the inside of the book, a journal with a decorative cover may be a better choice.
finally, it's a good idea to keep the wishbook either by your bed or on an altar of your choosing. if you're already building or using a space for abundance/prosperity/wealth, then this is an excellent way to continue concentrating that energy.
one {soft} rule: black out daunting prices. you're focusing your intentions and building energy to create what you love. money, at this stage, is no object. if the numbers discourage you, cut 'em out!
...oh, and have fun!

and so we read...
and so we read...
Tears are a river that takes you somewhere. Weeping creates a river around the boat that carries your soul-life. Tears lifet your boat off the rocks, off dry ground, carrying it downriver to someplace new, someplace better.

"morning glory"
All of my visions were untrue
Till I had a vision of you
And an untimely end for all
But it was only then, only then that I saw
Saw the morning glory.
Can't you take me there
Can't you take me there
Away from soliloquies of sadness
And prophecies of pain
And prophecies of pain
For us all to see.
I had a vision in my mind
I had a vision of peace
I had a vision of you.

the word
today's word is from thich nhat hanh, vietnamese buddhist monk and author. this passage is an excerpt from the "meditation on love" in the book peace is every step.
The source of love is deep in us, and we can help others realize a lot of happiness. One word, one action, or one thought can reduce another person's suffering and bring him joy. One word can give comfort and confidence, destroy doubt, help someone avoid a mistake, reconcile a conflict, or open the door to liberation. One action can save a person's life or help him take advantage of a rare opportunity. One thought can do the same, because thoughts always lead to words and actions. If love is in our heart, every thought, word and deed can bring about a miracle. Because understanding is the very foundation of love, words and actions that emerge from our love are always helpful.

full disclosure
beloveds,
sometimes you forget your bliss.
there can be many reasons for this.
life can, very simply, get in the way: family emergencies, the needs of babies, stress at work or school...
there are situations where we give a little too much, work a little too hard. it's entirely possible to forget to hold on to our gooey, sticky sweet center. and that neglect can even be necessary to get us through a particular challenge.
your proprietress, obviously, is above none of this. so this is a message for us all:
if you find yourself unhappy, under-loved, overworked, exhausted, it's ok.
if you've been letting someone else have the big piece of chicken* (or tofu), painting your house other people's colors, forsaking your naked full moon dance, it's fine.
all is in divine order, and there's beauty in the breakdown.
as soon as you've realized you've given and/or done too much, you can always stop, relocate your center, and change.
don't berate yourself; the why's and what for's will become clear soon enough. it is enough to know when it's time to pack your things and walk away.
in solidarity, with love,

"self love"
Caught up in a web of deception, from this shit I done learned new lessons
So what you do, you keep on playing, you play on, player
From love to confusion you keep gaining but you keep losing
So what cha find comfort in your bosom, bosom, heart bosom, I'm the one
From the high note to the low pains you see destruction but {???}
Only voices you hear in your own head, and they all laugh ha ha ha ha ha yeah
From your denials to your delusions everything you gain you keep losing
What you not know it's an illusion, so what the hell you doing?
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at you, here's looking at me
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at you, here's looking at me, here's looking at us, here's looking at we, ah shit
Here's looking at
You wake up every morning but baby boy you not sleep
Your taste food but you not eat
Your running fast but your not on your feet and your speed is there
You run on but you not know, you climb inside but you can't grow
Festering and festering til you fall to the floor
You screamed no but don't {????}
You work and work with no pay, you punch a clock but never end your day
You take vacation but you not play what we say by this time here my friends drink three
You cry cry revolution, but yet you want a solution
But you more content with being a pollution jump in the motion, and ask the notion
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at love, kid
Here's looking at you, here's looking at me, here's looking at us, here's looking at we
Here's looking at love, kid
Looking at love, kid
Here's looking at you, here's looking at me, here's looking at us, here's looking at we
Self love, self preservation, Self love, self preservation...
L O V E love
L O V E love yourself
If you don't like your job, maybe you should quit, stop being a bitch, and love yourself
If you believe things can work out easily,
I'm telling you if you don't like what your mama's telling you
Then be a grown man and stand up on your own two and love yourself
And if your girlfriends is on welfare, then baby walk away, you don't have to care,
Love yourself
And if standing on the corner and pushing rocks up in your socks
Ain't what you want to do then knock that...love yourself
L O V E your
L O V E yourself
ad lib out...
